Keynote Speakers

Professor Jun Miura

Toyohashi University of Technology, JAPAN

Jun Miura is a Professor at Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Toyohashi University of Technology (TUT). He received PhD in Information Engineering from the University of Tokyo in 1989. After having spent 18 years at Department of Mechanical Engineering, Osaka University, as an Assistant Professor and an Associate Professor, he joined TUT in 2007. Prof. Miura has published over 190 papers in the areas of mobile robots, robot vision, human robot interaction, and robotic applications to lifestyle support. He has also received many awards including the RSJ Best Paper Award in 1997, ICRA-1995 Best Paper Award Finalist, and ICRA-2013 Best Service Robotics Paper Award Finalist.

Professor Kazuhiko Hamamoto

Tokai University, JAPAN

Kazuhiko HAMAMOTO, was born in Nagasaki prefecture, Japan in 1966. He received B.D, M.D and Ph.D from Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology in 1989, 1991 and 1994 respectively. He was assistant professor in Dept. of Communications Eng., Tokai University in 1994, Associate Professor in 1999, and Professor in Dept. of Information Media Technology, School of Information and Tele-communication Eng., Tokai University in 2009 and Currently, he is the Dean of School of Information and Tele-communication Eng., Tokai University. His research interest is information architecture, especially, medical image processing, human interface and virtual reality. He joins IEICE, IEEJ, IEEE, VRSJ, JSST, etc. He is a member of Technical Committee of Medical and Biological Engineering, Society of Electronics, Information and Systems, IEEJ.

Professor Toshihisa Funabashi

Nagoya University, JAPAN

Toshihisa FUNABASHI, graduated in March 1975 from the Department of Electrical Engineering, Nagoya University, Japan. He received, in March 2000, a Doctor degree from Doshisha University, Kyoto, Japan. He joined Meidensha Corporation in April 1975 and has engaged in research and development on power system simulations and integration of distributed generations. He moved, in 2014, to Nagoya University as a professor. Currently, he is a visiting professor in Institute of Materials and Systems for Sustainability (IMaSS), Nagoya University. Dr. Funabashi is a chartered engineer in UK, a member of IET and a senior member of IEEE and IEE Japan.

Assc. Professor Ika Dewi Ana

Universitas Gadjah Mada, INDONESIA

Ika Dewi ANA, a dentist by training, graduated from Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Yogyakarta, Indonesia in 1993. She continued her study in Clinical Epidemiology at The Graduate School of Medicine, UGM and got her PhD in Dental Sciences from Kyushu University, Japan, in 2004. She is an associate professor at The Faculty of Dentistry, UGM. Her area of interest is bioceramics, tissue engineering, and regenerative medical therapy. The important path in her scientific career is her study under the supervision of Professor Kunio Ishikawa (Kyushu University) at that time she was awarded the most outstanding research presentation from Asian BioCeramics Society in 2003. She continued her scientific works as a research fellow of JSPS (Japan Society for The Promotion of Science) in 2005-2007, a postdoctoral research fellow of KNAW (The Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences) to run postdoctoral research collaboration by joining Professor John A. Jansen`s research group with Radboud Universiteit Nijmegen Medical Center, The Netherlands in 2007-2009, and a visiting researcher at the Institute for Frontier Medical Sciences, Kyoto University, Japan by joining Professor Yasuhiko Tabata`s group. Two of her research works have been already translated into the market in Indonesia by a university holding company. In 2014, JICA-AUN/SEED-Net (JICA- ASEAN University Network for South East Asian Engineering Education Development) chose her project as the most outstanding CRI (Collaborative Research with Industry) Research to go into commercialization and being disseminated as a model for ASEAN countries under JICA-AUN/SEED-Net. In December 16, 2014, she received Outstanding Intellectual Property Award from The Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education of The Republic of Indonesia. She is also The 27th President of The International Society for Ceramics in Medicine (ISCM) and Board Member of ISCM. She received “SRB (Romanian Society for Biomaterials) Excellence Award” in September 2016 and “ISCM (International Society for Ceramics in Medicine) Excellence Award” during Bioceramics 28 in Charlotte, USA in 2016. She serves as an Industrial Committee Member of TERMIS-AP since 2015. She was also involved in the module development and dissemination programs for strengthening University-Industry Partnership in Asia-Pacific region, under the management of UNESCO. She managed domestic, international, alumni and industrial collaborations in her position as Director of Partnership, Alumni and Global Initiatives of UGM (2012-2014). She was the Director of Center for Academic Innovation and Policy in UGM.
